My Favorite…New Author

I’m trying to think of other things I can do on this site because otherwise it’s a few updates every couple of months, and adding more authors is always nice but it doesn’t do much for content — or apparently, to inspire any one who might stumble on this site to comment. So here is the first in a series that we’ll call My Favorite… which will encompass all things. More reviews are coming soon.

My Favorite New Author: Linda Lael Miller

I’ll be adding her to the roundup later this week when I do the May/June update. I came across the book Montana Creeds: Logan at my CVS earlier this year. I read it in about a day and immediately went on the lookout for the next two books in the series and for the last few months I’ve been getting through her McKettrick series.

She’s not the absolute best author I’ve ever read, but certainly my favorite amongst the Western historicals. I don’t if it’s just me, but I can’t seem to find that many Westerns, whether they’re set in the past or today, that I like. Catherine Anderson is one that I do like, but she’s been hit and miss for me lately. Julie Garwood doesn’t write enough Westerns for me to really judge her and while I like her, I don’t really rush out to buy books these days. Linda Lael Miller is probably the first author I’ve come across in this genre that I’d put on my must list.
